Docker container in Azure

Docker container in Azure

You will learn today 4 different things:

  1. Create a Docker container in Azure using a Microsoft Image
  2. Create a Custom container in Azure
  3. Using Docker hub 3rd parties images
  4. Clean up process for containers in Azure

First, we need to understand the difference between a container and a Virtual machine

As you can see Container have less resources, not several kernels, not a big hypervisor no several OS like  VMs

There are several ways to run containers in Azure:

1.-Creating a Docker container using Microsoft image

Let's go to Azure and follow the graphics

This is a Microsoft Image (by default)

The output displays the logs for the container and should show the HTTP GET requests generated when you viewed the application in your browser.

2.- Custom Container

We can verify information on our container in the event

It was successfully created as you can see...

3.-Using Docker 3rd party image

We will use a random image from docker hub

Please pay attention to difference with the last one..we will choose Docker hub option, and a different image

Setting a DNS

Verifying using DNS

Verifying using IP address

4.- Clean up resources

When you're done with the container, select Overview for the ohhhvictorcontainer container instance, then select Delete.
